The WCHS Track team celebrated their season accomplishments last night at the Spring Sports Banquet that was held in the WCHS cafeteria. The WCHS track team had a highly productive 2019 season with the Lady Rebels finishing 2nd in the Colorado League Track Meet and winning the Rebel Round Up during the season. Also the Ladies 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams qualified for State this season and Senior Kinlee Pippin took 8th in State in the Long Jump. The Lady Rebels also had a number of First Team All-League Honorees, they were: Taylor Weber(Triple Jump) Kinlee Pippin(Long Jump and 400m), Evvi Reback(200m Dash), Breanna Clark(Pole Vault), Claire Daniel(High Jump), Kaitlyn Becker(Shot Put), Dilynn Stonner(Discus),the Girls 4x100m relay(MaryGrace Hinkle, Asia Kalcevic, Taylor Weber, Evvi Reback),the Girls 4x200m relay(Breanna Clark, MaryGrace Hinkle, Asia Kalcevic, Evvi Reback), and the Girls 4x400m Relay(Kinlee Pippin, Evvi Reback, Claire Daniel, MaryGrace Hinkle).
The WCHS Boy’s track team also had an excellent season by finishing 3rd in the Colorado League meet and placing 3rd in the Rebel Round Up. The Boy’s team had three State Qualifiers this year and they were: Michael McClure(Triple jump, Long Jump, High Jump), Tim Franke(Shot put), and George Graybill(Discus). State placers were Michael McClure who took 4th in the High Jump and George Graybill who took 6th in the Discus. The Boy’s team also had a number of First Team All-League selections, they were: Michael McClure(High Jump, Long Jump, and Triple Jump), George Graybill(Discus), Tim Franke(Shot Put), and Matt Cole(Pole Vault). The track team would like to thank Athletic Director Ryan Witzel for putting on such an excellent sports banquet! Congratulations to all the WCHS Track athletes on a job well done!
